Andalusian Itineraries

Seville, Jerez, Cadiz, Ronda, Cordoba, Úbeda, Linares-Baeza, Granada, Malaga

7 days/6 nights

  • Sunday: Seville-Jerez. 10:00 hrs. Following check-in and whilst your luggage is being taken to the Al Andalus, there is a small tour of Seville before returning to the hotel for lunch. The capital of Andalusia, Seville boasts the most extensive historic city centre in Spain, home to the Gothic Cathedral with its bell tower named Giralda, the Royal Alcazar and the General Archive of the Indies. After lunch there is a panoramic tour of the city, with a visit to the famous Plaza de España before boarding the Tren Al Andalus. There follows welcome cocktails on board after which you are shown to your suite. Dine as we travel to Jerez for the night.
  • Monday: Jerez/Cádiz. Breakfast on board, followed by a visit to Cadiz, popularly known as “la Tacita de Plata” (the Silver Teacup) and considered the oldest city in the West. Tour and free time in Cádiz, with lunch. Return to Jerez in the afternoon, for free time, dinner and overnight in Jerez.
  • Tuesday: Jerez-Cádiz-Ronda. Breakfast on board, followed by a visit to a sherry bodega. Afterwards there is a show by the Royal Andalusian School of Equestrian Art, an equestrian ballet with eighteenth century Spanish music and costumes. Return to the train for lunch as we travel to the stunning city of Ronda, a breathtaking location set on a plateau cut by the deep gorge Tajo de Ronda, through which the river Guadalevín runs. Dinner and overnight in Ronda.
  • Wednesday: Ronda-Cordoba. After breakfast, there is a tour of Ronda, before taking lunch on the train as it travels to Cordoba. Here there is a tour of Cordoba, where we have dinner and overnight.
  • Thursday: Cordoba–Úbeda–Baeza–Granada. After breakfast, we visit Cordoba and the exquisite Mosque-Cathedral, after which we tour the former capital of the emirate and medieval caliphate of Al Ándalus, when it was the largest, most cultured, and richest city in Western Europe. Lunch on board while we travel to Linares-Baeza Station to visit Úbeda and Baeza, both of which are UNESCO World Heritage Cities. During dinner, we arrive in Granada in the late evening. Overnight in Granada.
  • Friday: Granada. After breakfast, we tour the Alhambra, Spain’s most popular monument, a rich palatial complex built by the Nasrid sovereigns of the Kingdom of Granada. (The visiting times of the Alhambra may vary depending on the size of the group, languages, and authorisation from those in charge of the palatial complex.) Lunch. In the afternoon, we continue visiting Granada. Dinner and overnight in Granada.
  • Saturday: Granada-Malaga. After enjoying our last breakfast on board, we say goodbye to the train and its crew before travelling by coach to Malaga, where we visit the Alcazaba, a palatial fort from Islamic times. Free time followed by lunch in Malaga. The journey ends at the AC HOTEL BY MARRIOT MALAGA PALACIO Calle Cortina del Muelle, 1, Distrito Centro, 29015 Málaga, at around 17:00.
Malaga, Granada, Linares-Baeza, Úbeda, Cordoba, Ronda, Jerez, Seville

7 days/6 nights

  • Sunday: Malaga–Granada. After check-in, we visit Malaga and its Alcazaba, a palatial fort from Islamic times. Lunch in the Parador Gibralfaro. In the afternoon, we travel by coach to Granada, where the train and its crew will be waiting for us. Welcome and settling in on board the Al Ándalus Train. Dinner and overnight stay in Granada.
  • Monday: Granada–Linares/Baeza. Following breakfast on board the train, we visit the Alhambra for a tour of Spain’s most popular monument, a rich palatial complex built by the Nasrid sovereigns of the Kingdom of Granada. (The visiting times of the Alhambra may vary depending on the size of the group, languages, and authorisation from those in charge of the palatial complex). Lunch. In the afternoon, we continue visiting Granada. Dinner on board while the train takes us to Linares/Baeza. Overnight stay in Linares/Baeza.
  • Tuesday: Linares/Baeza–Úbeda–Baeza–Cordoba. After breakfast, we visit Úbeda and Baeza, both of which are UNESCO World Heritage Cities. While having lunch, the train takes us to Cordoba. Tour of the former capital of the emirate and medieval caliphate of Al Ándalus, when it was the largest, most cultured and richest city in Western Europe. Dinner and overnight stay in Cordoba.
  • Wednesday: Cordoba–Ronda. Following breakfast, we visit Cordoba and the amazing Mosque-Cathedral before travelling by train to Ronda, whilst having lunch. In the afternoon, we tour Ronda, with its awe-inspiring location, perched above a plateau penetrated by the deep Tajo de Ronda gorge, through which the River Guadalevín flows. Dinner in a restaurant and overnight stay in Ronda.
  • Thursday: Ronda–Jerez. While having breakfast, the train takes us to Jerez, for a visit to a (sherry) winery and followed by a show “ How Andalusian Horses Dance,” a famous equestrian ballet featuring Spanish music. Lunch in Sanlúcar de Barrameda and free time. Dinner on board the train. Overnight stay in Jerez.
  • Friday: Jerez. After breakfast, a coach takes us to Cadiz, popularly known as “la Tacita de Plata” (the Silver Teacup) and considered the oldest city in the West. Tour, free time and lunch in Cadiz. In the afternoon you can wander Jerez, followed by dinner and overnight stay in Jerez.
  • Saturday: Seville. After enjoying our last breakfast on board the train and saying goodbye to the crew, there is a tour of Seville, which has the most extensive historic quarter in Spain. A World Heritage City featuring great artistic riches and beautiful gardens. Trip ends around 17:00 hrs at HOTEL DEL ALABARDERO: C. Zaragoza, 20, Casco Antiguo, 41001 Seville.

  • Day 1. (Sunday) Seville – Jerez
    Reception of travellers in a Hotel of Seville at 10:00 h. We will then visit the capital of Andalusia, which features the most extensive historic quarter in Spain. After lunch, we will enjoy a panoramic tour of the city, visiting the famous Plaza de España, before getting on board the Al Ándalus Train. A welcome drink on the train, presentation of the crew, and settling in. Dinner on board while the train arrives in Jerez, overnight stay in Jerez.
  • Day 2. (Monday) Jerez–Cadiz–Jerez
    After breakfast with our coach will take us to visit Cadiz, popularly known as “la Tacita de Plata” (the Silver Teacup) and considered the oldest city in the West. Tour and free time to immerse ourselves in Cadiz’s charms at our leisure. Lunch. We will return to Jerez in the afternoon. Free time, dinner, and overnight stay in Jerez.
  • Day 3. (Tuesday) Jerez–Ronda
    After breakfast, we will visit a Jerez (sherry) winery and enjoy the show “How Andalusian Horses Dance,” a famous equestrian ballet featuring Spanish music. Lunch on board the train as we head towards Ronda. Dinner in a Ronda restaurant and overnight stay in Ronda.
  • Day 4. (Wednesday) Ronda–Cordoba
    After breakfast we will visit Ronda, with its awe-inspiring location, perched above a plateau penetrated by the deep Tajo de Ronda gorge, through which the River Guadalevín flows. Lunch on board while the train takes us to Cordoba. Tour, dinner, and overnight stay in Cordoba.
  • Day 5. (Thursday) Cordoba–Úbeda–Baeza–Granada
    After breakfast on board the train, we will visit the Mosque-Cathedral and continue touring the former capital of the emirate and medieval caliphate of Al Ándalus, when it was the largest, most cultured, and richest city in Western Europe. Lunch on board the train while we travel to Linares-Baeza Station to visit Úbeda and Baeza, both of which are UNESCO World Heritage Cities. Visit to an oil mill (Almazara) and olive oil 12 | 34 – 20.05.2024 Season 2025 tasting. While we have dinner, we will arrive in Granada in the late evening. Overnight stay in Granada.
  • Day 6. (Friday) Granada
    After breakfast, we will tour Spain’s most popular monument, a rich palatial complex built by the Nasrid sovereigns of the Kingdom of Granada. (The visiting times of the Alhambra may vary depending on the size of the group, languages, and authorisation from those in charge of the palatial complex.) Lunch. In the afternoon, we will continue visiting Granada. Dinner and overnight stay in Granada.
  • Day 7. (Saturday) Granada
    After enjoying our last breakfast on board, we will say goodbye to the train and its crew. We will make one last visit to the Nasrid city. Lunch, and end the trip around 4:00 p.m.

    Reception of travellers at a Hotel in Granada at 12:0 p.m. Visit of Granada and food at the Hotel. In the afternoon, welcome and accommodation aboard the Al Ándalus Train. Dinner and night in Granada.
  • Day 2. (Monday) Granada–Linares/Baeza
    After our first breakfast on board the train, we will tour Spain’s most popular monument, a rich palatial complex built by the Nasrid sovereigns of the Kingdom of Granada. (The visiting times of the Alhambra may vary depending on the size of the group, languages, and authorisation from those in charge of the palatial complex.) Lunch. In the afternoon, we will continue visiting Granada. Dinner on board while the train takes us to Linares/Baeza. Overnight stay in Linares/Baeza.
  • Day 3. (Tuesday) Linares/Baeza–Úbeda–Baeza–Cordoba

    During our last breakfast we will arrive in Seville, where we will say goodbye to the train and its crew, visit Seville, which has the largest Historic Center in Spain. World Heritage City, with great artistic wealth and beautiful gardens. Lunch and end of the trip around 4:00 p.m.

Al Andalus offers an elegant travel experience with seven beautifully-renovated sleeper carriages, five of which are original Wagon-Lits carriages from 1929. Each suite is individually air-conditioned, and train stewards are available at all times.

Lounge and Dining Cars

Al Andalus has four wonderful lounge cars, dating between 1928 – 1930. These carriages are used as restaurants, saloons and lounges and all have large windows thus ensuring that guests enjoy the spectacular scenery. Music recitals are given in these cars. All the carriages are air conditioned and are available 24 hours a day.
