  • 10:00hrs check-in at Bilbao – La Concordia station.
  • Saturday: Bilbao – Santander. 10:00 am. Reception on board at Bilbao-La Concordia station, followed by a sightseeing tour of the city with a visit to the Guggenheim Museum. Lunch on board as the train heads to Santander. In the afternoon, a visit to the city with free time and dinner in one of the city restaurants. Those who wish, can visit the Casino del Sardinero. Overnight in Santander.
  • Sunday: Santander – Santillana – Arriondas. Breakfast on board as the train arrives in Cabezón de la Sal where the coach will take us to visit the medieval village of Santillana del Mar and the neo-cave of Altamira. Lunch in Santillana del Mar. Return to the train to travel through the Asturian lands to Llanes for a tour of this town. Dinner onboard and overnight in Llanes.
  • Monday: Llanes – Oviedo. After breakfast, our coach will take us to the first Capital of the Asturian Kingdom, Cangas de Onís, to the heart of the Picos de Europa mountains; Covadonga Sanctuary, and Lake Enol. We then return to the train to head towards Oviedo while having lunch. Tour of Oviedo. Dinner and overnight stay in Oviedo.
  • Tuesday: Oviedo – Gijón – Luarca. After breakfast we tour Gijon, a dynamic city open to the sea, free time, and lunch in Gijon. In the afternoon, we travel to Luarca where there is a tour followed by dinner on board the train. Overnight in Luarca.
  • Wednesday: Luarca – Ribadeo – Viveiro. While breakfasting, we arrive in Ribadeo, the first Galician town on our route. Visit, free time and lunch in Ribadeo. In the afternoon, the train travels to Viveiro. Visit, dinner and overnight in Viveiro.
  • Thursday: Viveiro – Santiago de Compostela. On the last day, while breakfasting, we arrive at Ferrol and take the coach in this Jacobean Holy Year towards the Galician Capital City. Visit Santiago de Compostela and lunch in the Parador Reyes Católicos, where we will say goodbye about 16:00hrs.

  • 10:00hrs check-in at the National Parador Reyes Católicos in Santiago de Compostela
  • Saturday: Santiago de Compostela–Viveiro. Reception in Santiago de Compostela’s Parador Nacional de los Reyes Católicos at 10:00 h. Tour of Santiago during this Compostela Holy Year, and lunch. In the afternoon, the coach will take us to Ferrol, to join the train. Presentation of the crew and settling in as the train travels to Viveiro. Tour of Viveiro, free time, dinner, and overnight stay in Viveiro.
  • Sunday: Viveiro-Oviedo. While having breakfast on board the train we will travel to Ribadeo, tour, free time, and lunch in Ribadeo. In the afternoon, the train will take us to the first Asturian locality, Luarca, known as the White Town of the Green Coast. Tour. Dinner on board the train and overnight stay in Oviedo.
  • Monday: Oviedo-Llanes. After breakfast we will take our coach to visit Gijon. In the afternoon, we travel to the Capital of the Principality, Oviedo. Tour and free time. In the late evening, we depart for Llanes. Dinner on board the train and overnight stay in Llanes.
  • Tuesday: Llanes–Cabezón de la Sal. After breakfast we travel by coach to the heart of the Picos de Europa mountains; Covadonga Sanctuary, Lake Enol, and the first Capital of the Asturian Kingdom, Cangas de Onís. Lunch. In the afternoon, we visit the town of Llanes and then head towards the Cantabria region; dinner on board the train, and overnight stay in Cabezón de la Sal.
  • Wednesday: Cabezón de la Sal–Santander. After breakfast we visit the Altamira Neocave and the medieval town of Santillana del Mar. Rejoin the train for lunch as it travels to Santander. Tour, free time, and dinner in a traditional restaurant. Overnight stay in Santander.
  • Thursday: Santander–Bilbao. During breakfast the train travels towards the Basque Country, arriving in the Capital of Biscay Province, Bilbao. Tour and lunch. After lunch we will head back to La Concordia Station, where our trip will end around 16:00 hrs.

  • Day 1. (Saturday) Bilbao–Santander
    Reception in Bilbao–Concordia Station at 10:00 h on board the train, presentation of the crew, and settling in. Panoramic tour of the city and visit to the Guggenheim Museum. Lunch on board while the train heads towards Santander. In the afternoon, tour of the city, free time, and dinner in one of the city’s restaurants. Overnight stay in Santander.
  • Day 2. (Sunday) Santander–Llanes
    While we have breakfast on board the train, we will travel to Cabezón de la Sal, where our coach will take us to visit the Altamira Neocave and the medieval town of Santillana del Mar. Lunch in Santillana del Mar. After lunch, the train will take us into the Asturias region as far as Llanes, tour. Dinner on board the train and overnight stay in Llanes.
  • Day 3. (Monday) Llanes–Oviedo
    After breakfast, our coach will take us to the first Capital of the Asturian Kingdom, Cangas de Onís, then we will enter the heart of the Picos de Europa mountains; Covadonga Sanctuary, and Lake Enol. We will return thereafter to the train to head towards Oviedo while having dinner. Tour of Oviedo. Dinner and overnight stay in Oviedo.
  • Day 4. (Tuesday) Oviedo–Luarca
    After breakfast we will tour Gijon, a dynamic city open to the sea, free time, and lunch in Gijon. In the afternoon, we will travel to Luarca, tour, dinner on board the train, and overnight stay in Luarca.
  • Day 5. (Wednesday) Luarca–Viveiro
    While having breakfast we will travel to Ribadeo, the first Galician locality on our route. Tour, free time, and lunch in Ribadeo. In the afternoon, we will travel by train to Viveiro. Tour, dinner, and overnight stay in Viveiro.
  • Day 6. (Thursday) Viveiro–Santiago de Compostela
    On our last day, during breakfast we will travel to Ferrol, where we will say goodbye to the crew and take our coach to the Galician capital, Santiago de Compostela. Tour and lunch in El Parador de los Reyes Católicos, where our trip will end around 16:00 h.

MINI TRIPS (3d/2n)

  • Day 1. Oviedo – Picos de Europa – Llanes
    Reception on board the train at the Oviedo station at 10:00 a.m. Accommodation on board and subsequent visit to the Historic Center of Oviedo. While we eat on board the train we will arrive at Arriondas, from where we will depart with our coach to the Picos de Europa; Lagos de Covadonga, Santuario and Cangas de Onís, the first Spanish capital after the reconquest. Dinner and night in Llanes.
  • Day 2. Llanes – Santillana – Santander
    During breakfast the train will arrive at Cabezón de la Sal, from where we will depart to visit the Neo-cave of Altamira, a museum and reliable reproduction of this greatest exponent of Upper Paleolithic rock art. Then, Santillana del Mar, a town with its magnificently preserved medieval old town. After lunch, we will go by train to Santander, the elegant capital of Cantabria, visit and free time. Dinner and night in Santander.
  • Day 3. Santander – Bilbao
    During breakfast, the Costa Verde Express sets off for Bilbao, upon arrival we say goodbye to the crew and the train to visit this city full of dynamism, which has managed to reinvent itself after the decline of its traditional heavy industry. The visit to the city includes the entrance to the famous Guggenheim museum, symbol of this new Bilbao. After the visit we will end the trip at approximately 2:00 p.m. at La Concordia station.

MINI TRIPS (3d/2n)

  • Day 1. León – Valporquero – Cistierna
    Group reception at 10:00 a.m. at the National Parador of San Marcos in León. Visit of the monumental city of León and lunch. In the early afternoon we will catch the train in San Feliz. Presentation of the Crew and accommodation on board while the Costa Verde Express arrives in Matallana. In the afternoon, with the bus crossing the spectacular Hoces de Vegacervera, we will arrive at Valporquero to visit its caves, famous for their stalactites, stalagmites and capriciously shaped lava flows. Next, we will return to the train to head towards Cistierna where we will have dinner
  • Day 2. Cistierna – Románico Palentino – Espinosa de Los Monteros
    While we enjoy our first breakfast on board, the train will take us to Guardo, in Palencia. From here, we will go by bus to visit the Roman Villa of La Olmeda with its magnificent collection of mosaics, before discovering one of the best collections of Romanesque art in Europe, right on the Camino de Santiago. Saldaña, Carrión de los Condes and Frómista, where we will have lunch. After visiting the impressive temple of San Martín, and the Canal de Castilla, we will go back to the train to move to Espinosa de los Monteros, a beautiful village of Las Merindades in Burgos, dinner and night in Espinosa.
  • Day 3. Espinosa de los Monteros – Bilbao
    While we have breakfast we will cross the incredible landscape of the Mena Valley to reach Balmaseda, Brief visit of this town of Las Encartaciones, before arriving by bus to Bilbao. Visit of the city and its universally known Guggenheim museum. Free time, to end the trip at approximately 2:00 p.m. at La Concordia station.
